Day 1 (Saturday)Pick up in Florence

Your Hotel in Florence or the station is the starting point for your week of best Tuscan holidays. We’ll have a courteous, professional driver ready to pick you up at the station’s main entrance. After you’ve gotten picked up, our driver will escort you to your private apartment in an authentic Tuscan farmhouse, located on verdant grounds that you’ll find a joy to stroll around.
This historic farmhouse was actually a tiny village once upon a time, although now it houses 12 private apartments for our tour guests. You’ll find plenty of amenities in the farmhouse, including modern conveniences like a laundry facility and Wifi.
You’ll be able to enjoy exploring the farm, taking a dip in the pool, and attending the restaurant.

Day 2 (Sunday)The Casentino Valley

On our first day of really getting into the heart of Tuscany, we’ll take you to the Casentino Valley. This valley is an absolute treasure of Tuscany, and one you’ll not be in any hurry to forget. Here we’ll explore ancient monasteries and cathedrals, giving you a look into the soulful heart of the Tuscany region.
Our tour will walk the winding paths through Old Roman Empire constructions, and you’ll be able to wander through the ancient fortresses and medieval villages along the way.
After a morning experiencing the historical sites of the Casentino Valley, we’ll go to the medieval village of Poppi, just in time for lunch. After lunch, our tour continues to St. Francis of Assisi’s legendary monastery.
To wind up the day, we’ll introduce you to one of the best kept secrets of the culinary world of this region, a fantastic and authentic traditional dinner at the farmhouse

Day 3 (Monday)Soak up Tuscany with wine

On day 3, we’ll take you on a whirlwind tour that centers around wine, culture, and authentic Tuscan cuisine. We’ll start our day at Montalcino. For wine aficionados, this is where the red wine Brunello di Montalcino, one of the top three in the world, is originated from. We’ll take you through an unforgettable experience as we extend our tour through one of the most renowned wineries and wine cellars in the region.
We’ll then get a dose of genuine Tuscan culture and craftsmanship as we head to the city walls to watch traditional craftwork and metalwork, all performed by Tuscans using the same methods and materials as in centuries past.
In the city, you’ll also have the opportunity to visit wine shops that have become an identifier of the region. We’ll wrap up the day’s tour with a delectable Tuscan dinner.

Day 4 (Tuesday)Cooking class. Florence or Arezzo or Siena

On the third day of our tour, you can choose between relaxing at the farm or we can
organize an extra day tour in Florence or Arezzo or Siena upon request. If you are
interested on visiting museums, churches or any particular place in any city, it is
advisable to inform us in advance as they require reservations in advance. Please,
enquire to get a quote. In the evening you can enjoying a cooking class with our local
chef, with whom you will prepare dinner.

Day 5 (Wednesday)The Chianti Region

On this day, our central focus will be one of the region’s biggest draws: the local wine industry. The rich history of Chianti’s world celebrated wines will take our tour through wine cellars, vineyards, and medieval castles. While we’re in Chianti, you’ll get a view of the rolling olive groves, and even get to try a taste of the region’s renowned olive oil.
We’ll continue our exploration of local fare as we travel to Greve, where we’ll introduce you to a deli shop and butcher, regarded throughout Tuscany as the most famous, and well known.
As we continue immersing ourselves in the local culinary tradition, we’ll take our evening meal at the farmhouse

Day 6 (Thursday)La Maremma Toscana

Tuscany has no shortage of breathtaking scenery, and this day’s tour will offer you another view of it. Then, we’re off to indulge in Tuscany’s Etruscan history, an absolute gem of an adventure, while we travel about. You’ll get another chance to see another winery, this one elevated in esteem for not only its wine, but striking design by the famous architect, Renzo Piano.
We’ll then take a lunch break before visiting a gorgeous beach near Castiglione della Pescaia. While we’re here, you’re free to explore the medieval castle near the beach, and the vibrant local culture. We will then drive back to the farmhouse for dinner

Day 7 (Friday)The Pratomagno mountain

On the penultimate day of our journey, we’ll be visiting the mountain Pratomagno. This mountain is highly regarded as one the most interesting, exclusive, and mysterious mountains in the region. History buffs get an extra bonus, as this is the site of a famous crash by WWI hero Herbert John Louis Hinkler.
After an enjoyable hike on the mountain, we’ll visit the idyllic little village Loro Ciuffenna. Here you can catch a glimpse of Gropina’s Roman church, a cornerstone of the local sights. Then our tour will have a jaunt along to many of the ancient and medieval villages and hamlets that are famously scattered across the Tuscan hills and mountains. You’ll have more chances to partake in local culture and offerings before we end our tour at the mountain’s summit before our last Tuscan dinner together.

Day 8 (Saturday)Drop off in Florence

Before we part ways, we’ll enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at the farmhouse abode, and end with your departure in Florence

My parents just returned from a week in Tuscany with Matteo. Here is their review….”My husband and I have just spent an unforgettable week in Tuscany doing the “La Grandiosa Toscana Tour”. Tuscany Untouched came highly recommended from our friends who had done a trip last year and, it did not disappoint. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the history and unrivalled hospitality of the region. Matteo introduced us to experiences we would never have found and Oscar is a wonderful host at the farmhouse overlooking the valley. Matteo took us to wonderful wineries, local towns and ate amazing local food. Certainly places you would never visit as part of a big tour. We would give Matteo the highest rating and wish “ Tuscany Untouched” a wonderful future”.

I was part of a group of 6 women from Texas and 1 Aussie. Tuscany Untouched Tours were our hosts and guides for our 8 day trip. Owner, Matteo Piccardi, was exceptional! His knowledge and expertise of the area were invaluable to understanding the culture of the region. If you want to experience Tuscany without the crowds and congestion, this is the tour for you. We visited many vineyards, most with tastings and lunch, and shipped home many bottles of wine to enjoy with family and friends. Matteo took us to Monasteries, churches, medieval towns and even hosted a steak dinner at his home with his beautiful wife, Laura. Lorenzo, an intern guide, brought his guitar and we sang many American and Italian songs after dinner with Matteo’s lovely grandmother.
I cannot recommend Matteo, and Tuscany Untouched Tours, highly enough!
(by the way, Matteo has a great sense of humor as well!) Manzo, Manzo no Pollo!

My 19 year old daughter and I had an amazing holiday with Tuscany Untouched in June. From medieval festivals, to castles, wine farms, the seaside, climbing mountains, to the most beautiful little villages, cooking classes and of course the most amazing food and wine.

We stayed at the wonderful La Capraia were we enjoyed the hospitality of Oscar and his family. We loved the fact that we got to see small villages not often frequented by tourists and enjoyed food from restaurants favoured by locals – the best pizza and then steak I think we’ve ever had.

Thanks Matteo for making it such a special time for Jess and I – it is a holiday we will treasure for ever. We also look forward to having our Tuscan Dinner when you are back in Sydney

This is not 5 Star but if you want to live and feel Tuscany this is the perfect Holiday with local farm accommodation, touring around small wineries, small beautiful walled cities and villages. Escorted by Mattoe,he is a local, he knows the area intermittently knows the area, and the people and history. This tour shows you the real Tuscany not the big cities. Thank you Mattoe and Laura
